#29 🧭💡 Picking opportunities in a better way
12 questions to help you decide which opportunities to pursue.
Hi everyone,
The essence of navigating through uncertainty, of finding ways forward, is making choices. A specific type of choice is the one concerning pursuing specific opportunities.
Is this opportunity worth pursuing?
Here is a set of 12 questions that might help you decide whether to transform opportunities in initiatives that you pursue going forward.
What would I do this for?
Who else would benefit from this?
How big are the potential upsides?
How big are the potential downsides?
Why me?
Why now?
How would I approach this?
What would this mean in practice?
Who/what else might contribute?
Who/what else might stand in the way?
How ready am I to start doing this?
How would I know I’m doing a great job with this?
Conclusion: GO or NO GO
In practice, you might not need to answer all the 12 questions to gain confidence that an opportunity is a GO or a NO GO. Also, you might have 3-4 key questions that you ask about any new endeavour, as a quick check. “Why now?” is a particularly strong one for me, for example.
Enjoy a new year full of fructified opportunities,
